D.O.D.
Diabetes and Glaucoma Detection Project
The major goals of this project are to investigate the use of telemedicine to improve screening for diabetic retinopathy and glaucoma
Role: Co-P.I.
Louis R. Pasquale, M.D. 1/1/2005 - 1/1/10
N.I.H.
Gene-environment in glaucoma interactions
The goal of research is discover novel gene-environment interaction terms associated with primary open-angle glaucoma
Role: P.I.

Completed Research Support

N.I.H.
Prospective Study of Risk Factors for Eye Disease
The primary aim of this study is to investigate lifestyle and genetic risk factors in relation to age-related macular degeneration and primary open angle glaucoma in two prospectively followed cohorts of men and women. The study will evaluate the dietary intake of antioxidants, postmenopausal hormone use, and variants in the ATP-binding cassette-transport retina gene in relation to both wet and dry age-related macular degeneration, and antioxidant intake, smoking, and systemic blood pressure in relation to primary open angle glaucoma (POAG).
Role: Co-P.I.
5/1/2004 – 2/31/2005
Herman Eye Center
Travaprost Additivity Study
The major goal of this study is to compare the efficacy and safety of travaprost plus brimonidine versus travaprost plus brinzolamide in the treatment of open-angle glaucoma. This is a prospective, multicentered, randomized clinical trial that enrolled 216 patients nationwide.
Role: P.I.
