Since its founding in 1824, the Infirmary has been a center for excellence in ophthalmic and otolaryngologic care. This excellence, in part, has stemmed from our firm dedication to research in our specialties. Ranging from efforts in basic sciences and genetics to clinical-based studies, our various investigative approaches are creating new avenues of discovery and challenging the boundaries of knowledge about diseases of the eye, ear, nose, throat, head and neck. Infirmary physicians and researchers have consistently numbered among the pioneers in the fields of ophthalmology and otolaryngology.
