Richard/Ruthanne Simmons Glaucoma Fellowship

On the 50th anniversary of Dr. Richard Simmons' graduation from Harvard Medical School, and the 20th anniversary of his daughter, Dr. Ruthanne Simmons', graduation, also from Harvard, Massachusetts Eye and Ear Infirmary is raising money to establish "The Richard and Ruthanne Simmons Glaucoma Fellowship Fund" to carry on the legacies of these two exceptional clinicians and teachers. $100,000 having already been given (as of October 1, 2007), an additional $150,000 is needed to permanently endow the Fellowship.

Writing of his hopes for the Simmons Fellowship, Dr. Richard Simmons says, "I invite you to imagine with me an unbroken succession of bright, eager, young glaucoma fellows, and the thousands of patients whose lives the Simmons Fellows will go on to touch with their skill and compassion."
